Welcome students!

Even as we prepare this post, Dr. Moore, our head of circulation, is training student workers. We’re excited to be preparing for orientation on Thursday, August 30 at 2:30pm for our new students. Pop by the library tomorrow afternoon to learn more about the cool stuff we have and how we can help you with your work here. (No food or drink in the library, but there will be cake, fruit and tea in the lobby!)

Remember that you’ll need to register with us as a patron in order to check out print materials or use electronic resources – and contact Mary Robison, your reference librarian, for your very own “reference therapy” session, in which we can discuss your research interests and needs. We’ve got an agreement with Union Theological Seminary so that our students can use their resources (including checking out books!) – here’s some information about access to Union.

We are excited about working closely with Prof. Owen’s OT1 Class – this group will visit the Library on September 10 for Torah Day. Just this afternoon, rare book specialist and technical services librarian Patrick Cates mounted a new display that highlights some of our awesome Hebrew scroll collection. Come over and take a look!

Finally, would you like to soak up some amazing art in a fabulous museum near the Close? The Rubin Museum of Art offers a FREE University Open House September 8-9, so check it out before you’re consumed by your coursework. Their programs are marvelous and we’ve enjoyed partnering with the Rubin in past years.

This is just a hint of things to come, so watch this space for more exciting news about what’s going on at the Keller Library!
